Applegrove

Save the date for Applegrove’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held on Monday, March 31. The AGM is when the Board reports to members. There is a light complimentary supper, socializing, a local speaker (Robert Miller speaking on changes in the neighbourhood since the ’80s) and some prizes.

The Board presents the Annual Report describing the year’s activities and accomplishments, and the Financial Statement summarizing income and expenses. Plus, the members nominate Board members for the following year. Please RSVP to the Applegrove office at 416-461-8143.

Meeting next Monday March 24, 2014 – 7 p.m. at Maple Cottage on development proposal 1327 – 1339 Queen East

1327 and 1329 Queen East

What they want to demolish – 1327 Queen East (right) and 1329 Queen East. The houses to the east of this are included in this proposal. They would disappear as well.

The developers are closing in. Our neighbourhood has been “discovered.”

From Councillor Paula Fletcher:

Notice of Development –
Queen and Laing
A development application has been submitted to City Planning by the Rockport Group for an 8-storey condo at the southeast corner of Queen & Laing (1327-1339 Queen St. East) and the developer is holding community consultations on Monday March 24 to go over their proposal.

This development is right on the other side of the boundary between Ward 30 and Ward 32 which is represented by Councillor Mary-Margaret McMahon. As residents in the immediate area, I think it is important that you are a part of the community consultations.
